ELECTRICAL ENERGY QUALITY UNDER SHIP’S CONDITIONS

The goal of the presented paper is to sum up the author’s past activities in the field of electrical energy quality on ships. General problems connected with quality are shown, then, its measurement aspect is broadly described. It consists of measured quantities choice, methods and appropriate instrumentation. The idea of new means is based on microprocessor techniques. Particularly, it contains specialized analyser of electrical energy quality as well as additional devices. The proposed analyser is designed as distributed measurement system. It means autonomous measurement modules and...

MICROWAVE MOISTURE MEASUREMENTS ON A TEST-BUILDING

The adaptive modeling of chemical attack on concrete for the prediction of durability and for the quality control of concrete structures requires the assessment of the concrete moisture content. Two sensors were designed to determine the permittivity which is related to the moisture content. These relations can be obtained from a calibration procedure. The applicability of the sensors was investigated in a field experiment on a test-building. First long-term results are reported.

LOCAL ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE CHARACTERIZATION OF ARCHEOLOGICAL METALLIC FINDS CRUST BY AN ELECTROLITHIC METHOD

This work deal with the problem of locally characterize, by electrical parameters, crusts of archeological metallic finds that would allow, if performed, a better restoration procedure plan. Referring to resistance, a brief list of lead crust that is possible to meet, to which experimental data are referred, is done. A description of density current focusing apparatus is given, with the phenomenological behavior of density current. The data processing to extract local information is also presented.

GAIT IMMITATION REHABILITATION SYSTEM FOR PARAPLEGICS

The early after surgery rehabilitation has an enormous somatic and psychological importance for patient. In the after surgery phases of injured vertebral column with spinal damage stabilisation, the ordinary rehabilitation treatment is concentrated on patient positioning on the bed and also for training of sitting position with perspective transfer to wheelchair. The aim of presented work was to tray the possibilities of early rehabilitation of paraplegic's patients in vertical plane with imitation of physiological movement of extremities.

GOLF SKILL AND SWING MOTION

Golfers always want to score well, and here we investigate the factors in golf club swing motions that are most related to improving the score. In experimental studies, we found that average score of a golfer is accurately estimated from the artificial neural network by the conventional factors and the factors involved in bodytwist motion. From a sensitivity analysis of the linear function, we found that factors most related to improving the score are (1) faster ball velocity, (2) less standard deviation of twist angle, (3) less standard deviation of ball velocity, (4) faster bodytwist...

NURSING SUPPORT SYSTEM AT HOME IN THE NIGHT

This paper describes a new nursing support system at home in the night. The system non-restrictively monitors patients on the bed. An air mattress laid out on the bed, a fine pressure to detect the pressure in the air mattress and filters are the components of the system. The human body movements such as the heart beat, respiration, snoring, turning over and coughing directly to the pressure in the mattress and causes of the body movements can be discriminated by the proper filtering. Physical conditions of the patient can be diagnosed by bio-information above. When he is in an emergent...

ELECTRIC FIELD PLETHYSMOGRAPHY FOR MONITORING OF CARDIAC AND RESPIRATORY ACTIVITY

A project is reviewed which applies Electric Field Plethysmography to both respiratory and cardiac components in an equal way. Electrode positioning and signal processing are optimized in order to produce a sum-signal which finally is separated into a respiratory and a cardiac signal by means of adaptive filtering, Neural Networks, weighted subtraction or Fourier analysis, respectively. For the first time, the test system offers a simple tool for a precise determination of the exact synchronism between respiratory and cardiac activity.

AREAL BIOIMPEDANCE EQUIPMENT

The contribution shows the principle and construction of the areal bioimpedance equipment, which enables the evaluation of the dynamic course of bioimpedance in different parts of the body. The principle of the areal bioimpedance equipment is based on the measuring of bioimpedance by a four-electrodes impedance (resistivity) measuring method. The two-dimensional dynamic picture of the bioimpedance is obtained by tracing the bioimpedance in a rectangular net. The construction of the areal bioimpedance equipment issues of the realised experiments and measurements. The equipment enables the...

ANALYSIS OF HUMAN DYNAMICS IN MICRO-TELEOPERATION SYSTEM

Microsurgery and microassembly are some high precision tasks that require the assistance of a micromanipulator. However, in order to manipulate micro objects it is inevitable to consider the scaling effect problem between the worlds with different physical characteristics. Some scaling methods have been proposed, but how the scaling gains affect the human operator performance is still a remaining problem. In this paper, when different transfer function parameters are selected, the effects on the performance and the dynamic characteristics of the human operator are analyzed.

EVALUATION BASED ON 3D DISPLAS OF VOCAL VOWELS

The aim of the study is the recognition on the voice-prints of vocal vowels using instrument and control engineering method in order to utilize for CIM, security system, the evaluation of the vocal training and the voice compensation for voice handicapped persons. The five stages evaluation on the vocal voice is decided by a professor of the department of music for the lived voice and output of DFT. The authors obtain three dimensional diagrams composed of the frequency, the spectrum and time using DFT.
