Applications of the Phase Containment Effectiveness Metric in Automotive Industry Agile SW Development

Phase Containment Effectiveness (PCE) is a very powerful metric which can be used also in the automotive SW development for defects rate minimization. In the classical SW development approach is used the PCE metric in order to detect how efficient is the verification in each of the development phases. In this paper we present the benefits and principles for measureing PCE metric in automotive programs and organizations which adopted Agile SW Development. The acquired advantages are demonstrated by a detailed example of real application on how to measure the PCE metric on Iteration (Sprint)...

Pseudo-random Dynamic Testing Signal Modeling and its Electric Energy Compressive Measurement Method

This paper is concerned with the problem of measuring electric energy accurately under the large power dynamic (LPD) loads (e.g. arc furnaces in the steelmaking, high-speed train) testing conditions. The m-sequence pseudo-random dynamic testing (PrDT) signal parameter model is established. Meanwhile we analyze statistical properties of the PrDT signal model to prove that the model can represent typical characters of LPD loads and the testing signal is sparse in frequency domain. Then we design a deterministic optimal measurement matrix with the minimal measuring error and a novel Compressive...

Ultra-low-power SOI CMOS Pressure Sensor Based on Orthogonal PMOS Gauges

In this work, an ultra-low-power SOI CMOS pressure sensoris presented, using P-type MOSFET strain gauges to embed an active transducer in a 1 mm² 1.5 µm-thick membrane. The system demonstrates: (i) a maximumsensitivity of 700 ppm/mbar, (ii) a precision down to 2 mbars, (iii) a power consumption less than 10 µW for the PMOStransducer.

Pressure Calibration Quality Assessment through Interlaboratories Comparison

Proficiency Testing (PT) and InterLaboratory Comparison (ILC) can provide many benefits to testing and calibration laboratories. The successful completion of a well-designed proficiency test can validate the measurement method, technical training, traceability of standards, and uncertainty budgets of the laboratory. Additionally, proficiency tests can provide a good indication about the quality of the reported results. The main goal of this intercomparison was the assessment of laboratories capabilities that perform calibrations within pressure field and a travelling measurement standard was...

Length Calibration Quality Assessment through Interlaboratories Comparison

Year by year, laboratories has to demonstrate their competence to accreditation bodies and clients, as well. In order to give confidence of their measurement results, participation in interlaboratories comparisons is an important key. Laboratories, through interlaboratories comparision, check the reliability of their measurement results in comparison with assigned values, either reference values or consensus value. In this interlaboratories comparison, a number of 11 laboratories, using own procedures, had participated for a time period in which they determined the corrections of callipers....

Reactive Power Quality Assessmentthrough Interlaboratories Comparison

An independent assessment of the technical performance of laboratories is necessary, in order to assure the validity of measurement results[1]. The article presents the assessment of laboratories which participated at an inter-laboratory comparison (ILC) within reactive power field. A number of 23 laboratories had participated at this interlaboratories comparison [2] for a period of 10 months. Laboratories involved in this interlaboratories comparison perform verifications of reactive electrical energy meters. In order to make a correct assessment of these laboratories capabilitiesa...

Features of Evaluation Drift Effect During Key Comparison COOMET.EM-K5

The paper describes some problems concerning the evaluation of travelling standard drift effect and its further influence on evaluation key comparison reference value during a key comparison. The authors have demonstrated the evaluation procedure for drift effect when its model can be linear or not linear. Comparative analysis of the proposed procedure with other different approaches was done applying the electric power data of COOMET.EM-K5 key comparison. All the calculations were done in MATLAB.

Measurement Equipment for Low Level Vibration Studies in Mass Laboratory

High-accuracy mass measurements may be influenced by a number of factors, incl level of vibration. We have developed vibration monitoring system capable of measuring low vibration levels in the Estonian National Mass Standard Laboratory. The measurement system consists of three accelerometers attached to the massive base block in three perpendicular axes. The capabilities of our vibration monitoring system are limited to the range of frequency from 1 Hz to 100 Hz and acceleration from 1 mm/s 2 to 5 m/s 2 . The first results show that vibration in this frequency range may influence the...

Evaluation of the Mobility Performance with Numerical Analysis and Experimental Validation for a Lunar Exploration Rover

To fulfill success of the space mission, the traversability of lunar/planetary exploration rover should be evaluated and fully understood with respect to the terrain properties. Meanwhile, wheel-soil interaction is extremely complicated, and thus numerical analysis is compared to experimental approach of mobility performance such as sinkage, drawbar pull. Also, the model of mobility performance is ultimately depends on experimentally determined terrain parameters. This paper describes two experimental methods used to identify the accurate terrain parameters in a lunar simulant. In addition,...
