CAPABILITY OF MEASUREMENT PROCESSES BASED ON ISO/FDIS 22514-7 AND VDA 5

Calculations of capability and performance indices are based on measurement results. The uncertainty of the measurement process used to generate capability and performance indices must be estimated before the indices can be meaningful. The actual measurement uncertainty needs to be adequately small. To demonstrate the suitability of measurement processes, were in the industrial production process based on the MSA version 4 (AIAG Measurement System Analysis) is used. Another procedure is based on the ISO 98-3 ISO; Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM). But this is not...

HIGH-RESOLUTION AUTOCOLLIMATOR CALIBRATION SYSYTEM

This paper describes high-resolution autocollimator calibration system in NMIJ. A goniometer system with nano-radian resolution provides precision rotation angles of a mirror attached on the rotation axis and rotation angles read by an autocollimator are compared to the set angles. The rotation angle is detected by a high-precision angle interferometer that observes motions of corner reflectors attached to the axis. The interferometer is calibrated to output absolute angles by a 24-sided optical polygon that is attached to the rotation axis. The performance of the system is verified by...

A FAST METHOD TO ESTIMATE BODY CAPACITANCE TO GROUND

This paper describes a method to estimate the capacitance between the human body and earth ground that is based on an impedance analyzer intended to measure ungrounded impedances. The method does not need any external components other than two common resistors, works in the 10 kHz to 1 MHz frequency range, and can be applied to other grounded impedances.

NON-INVASIVE BLADDER VOLUME MONITORIZATION THROUGH NON-GALVANIC ELECTRODES

In this paper we study the feasibility of bringing together the classic rheographic volume measurement approach with non-galvanic electrodes which would allow for a fatigue free holter approach in daily monitoring of bladder volume. This approach relies on a multi-frequency FPGA-based system. This viability analysis will be approached both regarding the measurement accuracy and robustness to motion artifacts. In this preliminary study focus is essentially on the accuracy.

CONTACTLESS ECG SCANNING DEVICE HARDWARE DESIGN PROPOSAL

In this paper proposals on construction of the contactless ECG scanning system hardware are described. The philosophy of the system is based on the idea of creating a simple-to-be-worn dress that includes capacitive ECG sensors the outputs of which are transferred to the A/D converter of a processing device. Contemporary technologies enable sewing of the sensors as well as the connecting wires into the dress. The processing device receives three analogous signals corresponding to the potential differences sensed on the body of the measured person. The paper is focused on the problem of...

UWB PULSE GENERATION AND MODULATION FOR SIGNAL EXTRACTION FROM IMPLANTABLE DEVICES

Ultra WideBand (UWB) communication systems have been undergoing tremendous developments over the recent past years. The areas of interests are industrial automation, identification for short range geolocational positioning systems and for extraction of signals from implants and wearable gadgets used in the bio-medical field. Such interests are the motivation of exploring this technology in terms of its utility in estimating the bit-error-rate (BER) various modulation techniques offer as performance indices. In this paper, a UWB pulse generator is designed and the performance of different...

GLUCOSE UPTAKE RATE UNCERTAINTY IN A FED BATCH BIOREACTOR

Glucose uptake rate is a typical quantity for bioreactor non invasive monitoring, which is candidate as metabolic assay for tissue engineering. Volumetric glucose uptake rate enables to compare bioreactor performances. Fed Batch reactors are typical in tissue engineering applications. This work aims to the identification of the metrological bottlenecks of an uptake rate measurement in a bioreactor for human cells; it offers a first metrological characterization of the quantities for a typical bioreactor protocol. Glucose uptake rate and volumetric one are measurable at 6% and 3% uncertainty...

DIAGNOSTIC OF MAXILLOFACIAL PATHOLOGY

This paper describes importance of use of modern temperature measuring equipment in diagnostic of maxillofacial pathology. Each change in the maxillofacial region of human body caused by tumour, inflammation or other disease typically causes small change in temperature on the skin of patient. In this paper, we will present preliminary study and suggest procedures how to detect these temperature changes with use of thermal imagining cameras.

A BALANCE BOARD DEVICE FOR HOME CARE TELEREHABILITATION EXERGAMING

A prototype of a low-cost balance board for exergaming-based tele-rehabilitation systems is introduced. The objective is to extend at patient’s home the interactive nature of the individualized rehabilitation therapies traditionally carried out at clinic. Preliminary results on posturographic tests showed encouraging performance.
