This study intends to develop a more improved starting block precision sensor for the enhancement of performance and for a kinematic analysis of the short-distance-dash. The production is equipped with a strain gauge attached to the symmetric beam structure for the existing starting block currently on the market. It is found to show that equipment has 5 times more improved effects, indicating that the beam structure devised in this study is effective, and that reliable results can be achieved. In the future, an additional research will be conducted on the impact of training track athletes...

CENAM developed a torque transfer calibration system with nominal torques defined at 200 N·m and 2 kN·m in order to meet the calibration needs identified for the Metrology Laboratory of the collective transport system "Metro" in Mexico City. Its use is mainly for the calibration of torque meters and low accuracy transducers; design started from that consideration. Integrating mechanical design and control, a functional torque calibration system was built and put into operation.

An international comparison of torque standards was conducted between KRISS and NIS in the range of 20 N·m up to 2000 N·m. Three high-performance torque transducers measuring "pure torque" were used as transfer devices with the same amplifier. Three transducers, with rated capacities of 50 N·m, 1000 N·m and 2000 N·m were transferred from the NIS to the KRISS. Analysis reveals that all results of KRISS and NIS are equivalent to each other within their CMCs.

This article reports the calibration procedure for a commercial Solartron 7835 densimeter which is currently used as “reference” instrument in an automatic apparatus for the calibration of on-line densimeters. Three different materials (fluids), whose densities are known at the usual working condition of pressure and temperature, are used for characterizing the reference densimeter. The procedure applied at the INRIM to produce accurate parameter estimates in the densimeter calibrations is described in this papers. It is based on the application of the weighted least square method (WLS),...

This constitutes the fifth comparison in the magnitude of force accomplished by Calibración's Laboratorios of Fuerza and the Designate Laboratory Magnitude in force ( LD F ) of Chile. This is comparison the continuation belongs to the developed last year because of the errors in the calculations detected in some of the participating laboratories. A uniaxial testing machine INSTRON utilized like standard of this comparison in compression, 100 kN's reach of measurement, 0.01 kN's resolution itself for comparison, the same that was utilized in the previous work. The team was made easy by the...

At regional level, Chile is part of the Interamerican Metrology System (SIM) that is the result of the achieved agreements among the 34 member countries of the Organization of American States (OEA) to promote metrology. The SIM consists of five sub regions NORAMET, CARIMET, CAMET, ANDIMET and SURAMET. This last sub region comprises Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The 5 t standard weight was constructed to support the newly design of 1 MN deadweight force standard machine in Korea according to International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML)’s requirements. The weight consists of five pieces of 1 t weight and was considered safety and convenience in handling of large capacity. We have also set up a commercial mass comparator with auto-centering pan for calibration of up to 5 t deadweights. Each 1 t piece was compared with 1 t mass standard by the method of double substitution. We have tested the repeatability of comparator with the newly...

Fatigue testing machines are widely applied in industry. For satisfying the increasing demands for dynamic force calibration of fatigue testing machines, a series of researches and experiments on dynamic force standards and methods have been carried out by NIM. A set of calibration device, which is composed of strain-gauge force transducers/ calibration bars and a data acquisition & signal conditioning device, was developed for dynamic force calibration of fatigue testing machines. The typical dynamic force standards and methods, which were used for evaluating dynamic characteristics of the...

As the dynamic force for measuring objects in any motion is required for a system to measure inertia mass in dynamic motion. The authors have proved that it is possible to obtain in no-time the inertia mass of the moving object under dynamic states, by solving numerically the Lagrange’s differential equations of motion using by dynamic forces, dynamic accelerations and non-modelled theory. The force measurement of a dynamic motion requires both high speed scanning of signal at 0.1 µs to 1.0 µs and normal vertical direction forces. Measuring them, it can conform the inertia mass of the...

A deadweight force standard machine is a mechanical structure that generates force by subjecting deadweights to the local gravitational field. Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) has launched a project to develop a 1 MN deadweight force standard machine in 2011. The project is scheduled to be finished in 2014. This paper describes the design of the deadweight force machine. Concept and structure of the force machine are illustrated in the paper.
