The use of dry calibration for modern flowmeter technologies may offer a way to reduce the frequency and cost of wet calibrations. This paper contrasts the acceptability of dry calibration for the orifice plate with the use of dry calibration for modern flowmeters. Some background to dry calibration is reviewed, in particular for the electromagnetic flowmeter (EMFM). Suggestions have been made to achieve dry calibration in modern flowmeters, and the paper explores how this might be achieved in various designs. Some new strategies are discussed for dry and in-situ calibration. It is concluded...
This paper described the researching work of dribbling type water meter. The research is from two problems, e.g. dribbling flowing without measurement and measuring without using water that popularly exist in the field of tap water. We can get the conclusion by analyzing experiment data and characteristic curve: the two problems can be solved by means of the technique of pressure-difference-activated film.
The essay combines the experiences of the testing practice and analyses the practical applied effect, aims at the various big-bore heat meters and heat metric equipments which were largely applied in the concentrated heat-supply pipe networks of urban areas. Meanwhile, it probes detailed in the component verification/calibration methods of heat meters and their relative equipments, such as flow sensor, transforming unit and the secondly calculated meters, etc.
This paper describes the researches of the calculation method of heat transmission of heat meters: Enthalpies difference method and heat coefficient method are the same in nature, each method can be chosen at different conditions. While consulting the heat coefficient table, the flow measuring position corresponding to the heat coefficient should be consistent with the installation position of the flow sensor, otherwise correction should be carried out to avoid the errors.
One coin has two sides. The three Test methods have their advantages and disadvantages. In ours more than 2 years testing LPG dispenser experience, comparing the two test methods. Master meter Test Method fit in with the gas station and producer LPG dispenser. Gravimetric Test Method fit in with lab. The reasons and the truth. Compare to the methods.
Gas meters, Electricity meters, Water meters and Heat meters 4 Family Meters Reading Management system. Long distance reading meter system, Wireless Automated Meter Reading (WAMR) system. Potential to use GSM/GPRS radio communications interface technology in meters reading system.
This paper describes a detailed study, covering analytic as experimental aspects, about the effect on a commercial Woltman meter of different hydraulic fittings and configurations such as butterfly and gate valves. Firstly, a three-dimensional numerical simulation using computational fluid dynamics techniques (CFD) is used to calculate the alteration of the velocity profile by upstream fittings. Afterwards, the theoretical analysis undertakes the study of blade forces and torques generated by the fluid flow (Baker, 2000). Finally, laboratory test validates the analytical procedure proposed.
A novel digital Coriolis mass flowmeter (CMF) system is designed. The whole output signals of the flow sensor are acquired by the high performance and precision parallel A/D system and output signals are analyzed by the digital signal processor because of the powerful operation capability. The signals are filtered by finite impulse response (FIR) band pass filter. The new signal processing method is designed for calculating the frequency and the phase difference of the two signals. Moreover, the temperature compensation model of the density and the mass flow are presented. The experimental...
A detailed numerical model has been developed to simulate the single straight tube Coriolis flowmeter, which includes all important practical features. The measuring tube is modeled as fluid-tube interaction elements characterized as mass, stiffness and damping matrices based on the theories of fluid-structure interaction and finite element method. Other features, such as the inner and outer cases and the driver spring as in Krohne OPTIMASS flowmeters, are modeled as standard ANSYS beam and shell elements and coupled to the measuring tube. The modal frequency and phase shift from experiments...
Coriolis flow meters have been used for last ten years for Custody Transfer of Liquid Hydrocarbons in the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream oil and gas segments for single-phase flow measurement for White Oils, Black Oils and NGL Liquids. These applications in past were done with variety of methods adopted for verification of these meters performance in the field or laboratory. In Oct 2002 API published the first edition of the Standard that provides significant recommendations for the usage of this technology for Custody Transfer of Crude Oil and finished liquid hydrocarbon. This document...
