MOBILE-LEARNING ON ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTATION BASED ON FPGA

Based on the availability of broadband connections, the development of mobile technology provides to final users more and more services. One of these is remote teaching that gives the possibility to students to choose time and place to study. The learner can remotely interact with an actual experiment and real devices placed in any other part of the globe by simply using a common Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). In this paper an application of remote teaching that combines mobile technology and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) is given. The experiment is performed on an existing...

DC POWER SUPPLY WITH VERY LOW NOISE

Accurate measuring equipment and generally all electronic equipment, in which a large S/N ratio is requested for the signal processing, are very sensitive on disturbances coming from power supplies. A simple solution is the power supply of such equipment from accumulators or batteries; nevertheless, this brings problems with their servicing. This contribution presents the results of study of noise disturbance of laboratory power supply on high pure sine-wave signal source and describes a design of special power supply with minimum noise, which was realized.

SIGNAL GENERATOR WITH MINIMAL DISTORTION FOR ADC TESTING

The special generator of testing signal was designed for the frequency of 441.171 kHz. The generator consists of the special crystal oscillator and a high power amplifier. The frequency stability of the generator is in order of 10 -6 /day, the output power 1W, the value of SINAD is close to 120 dB and the total harmonic distortion under -170 dB by using of linear narrow-band filter.

NON-LINEARITY DIAGNOSTICS FOR CONDUCTIVE ADHESIVES

The level of intermodulation products that are generated represents the extent of non-linearity for any electronic component. To determine the quality of connections with conductive adhesives the technique of evaluating non-linearity was used as a diagnostic method. The used measuring equipment is based on the evaluation of intermodulation distortion, which is generated by the non-linear component, when two sinusoidal signals are supplied. The equipment measures non-linearity of 3 orders. The measured level of non-linearity is -180 dB with respect to the actuating signal. The maximum current...

VIRTUAL ELECTROLYTE CONDUCTIVITY ANALYZER FOR MICROPLASMA OXIDATION PROCESS CONTROL

This paper presents both hardware and software of virtual system for conductivity measurement of electrolyte solution. The distinctive feature of the system is its application for the concentration control of an electrolyte solution component during microplasma oxidation process which is characterized by the conductivity in the range from 0.1 S/m to 30 S/m. The analyzer has virtual control panel and based on module measurement system of National Instrument PXI standard. Structure and main principles of constructing the system components are described. Its technical and metrological...

THE UNIVERSAL MODEL OF ERROR OF ACTIVE POWER MEASURING CHANNEL

The types of the structures of active electric power measuring channel and features of functions of measuring transformers in their configurations are considered. The universal mathematical model of measuring channel error, which takes into account influence of channel’s configuration, individual metrological performances of separate measuring devices, measuring operating conditions and the controlled electric network mode on its value, is developed. The example of application of the offered model is made.

CURRENT SENSOR DESIGNED FOR USAGE WITH DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEMS OF ELECTRIC GRID

The magnetic characteristics of nano-crystalline alloy MN-11 tape-wound magnetic core are studied and a mathematical model of the current transformer with such magnetic core is made in the form of block diagram of the servo system. Designed and manufactured current sensor for digital control systems in the form of high-precision current transformer with a specified minimum value of the rated instrument security factor of the secondary winding. Experimentally confirmed the high level of metrological performances of the sensor and their practical stability in the frequency range 50-2000 Hz.

THE IMPACT OF BROADBAND PLC OVER VDSL2 INSIDE THE HOME ENVIRONMENT

The availability of in-home broadband services is not monopolized by a specific technology, but different technologies are currently available and used to deliver high speed data to the customers. This is plausible because the market did not favor a specific broadband technology over others, although wireless routers have been deployed most the last years. Nevertheless, powerline communications in house lately gained in importance, since this technology is easy to set-up and performs reasonably well under certain conditions, which will be treated in this paper. Hence, it would be common to...

A CHEAP WI-FI INSTRUMENTATION REMOTE CONTROL PLATFORM FOR ELECTRIC AND ELECTRONIC DIDACTIC LABORATORY

Remote control of instrumentations and the connected measurement techniques represent an interesting topic particularly appreciated in some sectors as industry, research and e-learning. The current technologies allow to fully control modern instrumentation that is already conceived for this aim, while it is harder to manage old instrumentation not specifically designed for this kind of control. At the moment the costs are strongly conditioned by the current architecture that uses a personal computer as local server to manage the local instrumentations making impossible a really common use of...
