About IMEKO

IMEKO is a non-governmental federation of 42 Member Organizations individually concerned with the advancement of measurement technology. Its fundamental objectives are the promotion of
- international interchange of scientific and technical information
- in the field of measurement and instrumentation, and
- the enhancement of international cooperation among scientists and engineers from research and industry.


Founded in 1958, the Confederation has consultative status with UNESCO and UNIDO and is one of the five Sister Federations within FIACC: Five International Associations Co-ordinating Committee, further consisting of

The Member Organizations provide the financial means required for the operation of the Secretariat. The Treasurer supervises financial activities. All Officers serve on an honorary (unpaid) basis.

Statement on the European Union's GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

This website displays personal data related to persons involved in the work of IMEKO.
The data is received from the individual persons through the secretariat and the member organizations, committees and organs of IMEKO and is stored in a database.
Backups contain information associated with these persons. This information is stored for the legitimate interest of the security and reliability of the website. It will only be used for restoring purposes.

Individual control for registered users
Persons registered with this site control the corresponding data in the database.
The only information required to register is the username and email address. This is necessary to identify and ensure the account is unique to the given email address.

Registered users can add more information to their account or give trusted persons (for example, the secretary or the IMEKO Information officer) permission to do so. Data added to the account remains in the database until it is deleted. This can be done by the user or by a trusted person.

Individual Rights
Right to data portability – the right to access personal data in a standard, machine-readable format: The person can receive the personal data in CSV format. Please get in touch with the secretariat.
Right to access – the right to learn from IMEKO whether personal data is being stored and processed: Basic information is given above. For more details, please get in touch with the secretariat or the IMEKO Information officer.
Right to object - the right to object to processing data relating to the person: Please get in touch with the secretariat.
Right to erasure – the right for any personal data to be erased: Registered users can delete their personal data. Their account can be deleted by the IMEKO Information officer at the request of the secretariat. Not registered persons should contact the secretariat.
Right to rectify – the right to edit any inaccurate personal data about the user: Please get in touch with the IMEKO member organizations, committees, organs or secretariat with your request.

For any issues that cannot be rectified, please raise a claim to the IMEKO secretariat.
IMEKO will act within the GDPR bounds when responding to complaints.
