Design of coupling interface for narrowband Power Line Communication channel characterization

Souha Souissi, Ons Ben Rhouma, Chiheb Rebai
Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to propose an adequate design of coupling circuit for narrowband powerline channel (PLC) characterization for frequencies lower than 500 kHz. This interface filters 50/60Hz mains signal while avoiding damages of measurement equipment and/or any connected analog front end for PLC signal transmission. An experimental characterization setup is also described. Simulated and experimental results for different load conditions are performed for transmission and reception direction showing a small attenuation less than 1 dB for load impedances higher than 10 %Omega;.
