Performance Improvements and Development Trends of the Industrially Sintered NdFeB Permanent Magnets

Abstract:
The magnetic properties and the corrosion behaviour of the sintered NdFeB magnets are strongly influenced by the composition and the manufacturing processes. This paper reviews the industrial progress covering improvements in the properties of sintered NdFeB magnets, namely in the magnetic energy density (B.H)max, in the temperature stability and in the corrosion resistance, giving examples of magnet grades TERRAMAG®1) available in mass production.
