The paper presents the results obtained from a preliminary experimental assessment of a novel method which relies on Compressed Sampling (CS) of electrocardiographic (ECG) signal. The mathematical model for CS-based acquisition of ECG signals and its feasibility for practical implementation for an Internet-of-Medical Things (IoMT) system are described. Herein, the presented experimental results demonstrate the robustness and convenience of the proposed method.

Digital to Analog Converters (DACs) represent essential components in many applications. During the years, their performances have been improved hand in hand with the increasing need to accurately test them. Due to the large number of different DAC applications, several different specifications have been used to quantify the effective performance of these converters in a particular context. To unambiguously clarify DAC terms, definitions and test methods the IEEE Std. 1658 has been developed and is currently under revision. The paper presents an overview of the last research work dealing...

In the paper, analytical model and simulation are adopted to design of small capacitance standards based on fused silica. The small capacitance standards is designed with Kelvin equipotential protection structure. The stray capacitance introduced by the air gap between the capacitance eletrode and the Kelvin equipotential protection electrode(guard electrode) will affect the small capacitance value. The analytical model of the capacitor is established and the Schwarz-Christoffel transformation is used to analyze the stray capacitance. By adjusting the size of the air gap between the central...

This paper describes a high-isolation analogue switching device to replace the mechanical reed switches used in precision digital sampling bridges. The switching speed of the designed analogue switch is much higher than that of the mechanical switches, and the Off-Isolation is good enough at frequencies between 1 kHz and 100 kHz. A method of applying the designed analogue switch to an automatic source balanced single digital sampling bridge is given, the theoretical measurement accuracy of the given bridge can reach ppm level with faster measurement speed. Finally, the actual Off-Isolation...

This paper begins with presentation of the main facts about University of Novi Sad (Serbia) and its Faculty of Technical Sciences. Important results of metrology in electrical engineering from past to nowadays, at Faculty of Technical Sciences (University of Novi Sad), are consequently described. The role of the Centre of Metrology is recognized as the basis for cooperation between university and industry in the field of metrology. All these parameters enabled ELEMEND – EU ERASMUS+ project for electrical energy markets and engineering education which is being implemented at University of...

The Planck-Balance is a table-top device that utilizes the concept of a Kibble balance. In contrast to a standard electromagnetic force compensated balance, the force factor B l is not determined by calibration with mass pieces. Instead of this static calibration, the Planck-Balance applies a sinusoidal motion on the coil and determines the B l based on measurements of induced voltage, displacement and frequency. In order to obtain valid force calibration for the weighing experiment, one has to ensure that the determined factor does not depend on the excitation frequency of the coil. A...

This paper describes the progress of magnetic applications on Programmable Josephson Voltage Standard (PJVS) at NIM. In past few years, we developed a PJVS based magnetic flux measurement system and continued improving the magnetic flux and the mutual inductance measurement accuracy. This paper introduces the automatic flux and mutual inductance measurement system that we developed. Experimental results show that the type A uncertainty of the measurement of mutual inductances of 577 mH is less than 2 ppm, which demonstrates the feasibility and reliability of the flux and mutual inductance...

This paper describes the procedure and experimental set-up used at CEM to determine the temperature influence on the frequency response of two Keysight 3458A digital multimeters (DMMs) in the Direct Current Volt (DCV) sampling mode. The DMMs were used to digitalize an AC input signal of 0.8 V and 1 kHz provided by an AC source.

A novel single pressure refractive index gas thermometry (SPRIGT) has been collaboratively developing by the TIPC-CAS in China and the LNE-Cnam in France. In the SPRIGT, microwave resonance frequencies are used to determine the refractive index of a working gas in a quasi-spherical resonator at a single pressure and temperature. Then an unknown temperature can be determined by comparing the refractive index with that at a reference temperature. Usually, the resonance frequencies were obtained by fitting the S21 scattering parameters with respect to the scanning frequencies, which are...

This paper shows how to measure high frequency angle modulated digital signals using a relatively low frequency spectrum analyzer and a digital frequency divider. The mathematical proof is based on comparison of the signal spectrum before and after the frequency divider. The spectral scaling of angle modulated digital signal by the divider is predictable mathematically implying that the spectrum at the input of the divider can be deduced from the spectrum at the digital output of the frequency divider. The proposed method was confirmed by measurement.
