- Abstract:
- The flow patterns of oil/water two-phase flow in vertical upward pipe have been characterized by the analysis of LZ Complexity. Fluctuation Complexity and Spectrum Entropy measures using the conductance time series fluctuating signals. It is shown that all the three complexity measures have little changes with oil-in-water flow pattern variations for water cut ranging from 61 % to 91 % and show irregular sudden changes to transitional flow pattern variations. We conclude that the three complexity measures are potential sensitive 'indicators' of flow pattern transition.
