OPTIMIZATION OF REQUIREMENTS FOR METROLOGICAL SUPERVISION PROCESS IN INDUSTRY OR LABORATORY

This paper presents comprehensive attitude to measurement process. Detailed model of metrological supervision can be applied in every industrial enterprise that seeks reliable results solving measurements traceability problem. Optimization of measuring instruments characteristics and created model of metrological supervision can ensure efficient use of these devices in technological process or laboratory. This research is the basis for database structure creation.

INTEGRATED EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN AND PARAMETER OPTIMIZATION UNDER UNCERTAIN PROCESS CIRCUMSTANCES

This paper presents an integrated experimental design and optimization methodology and its application in non-conventional machining process optimization. The introduced technique incorporates an efficient experimental settings generation module, a model building module based on the performed experiments and an optimization module using the built model. The application results show that the presented method is robust and is able to find optimal machining parameter values under uncertain process circumstances.

WATER INTRUSION AND LEAKAGE DETECTION IN ENVIRONMENTS WITH HIGH CONDENSATION

Many technical devices but also non-technical devices and objects are sensitive to water. Excessive amounts of water may lead to a damage or even malfunction of them. Water detection can thus be a useful tool for preventive maintenance, in particular in combination with wireless sensor nodes. In addition, with respect to warranty of technical devices, water detection also helps to identify if specified operation conditions have been violated. In both cases, it is important to achieve a high detection rate whereas false alarms should be avoided. A common source of false alarms is condensation...

DESIGN OF ARTEFACT FOR THE VERIFICATION OF THE CARL ZEISS METROTOM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPH

Industrial computed tomography enables, unlike conventional measuring methods and systems (CMM), evaluation not only of external dimensions of an object, but also its internal structure (material’s porosity). Unlike coordinate measuring machines, no international standard has been adopted for tomography devices that would facilitate smooth verification of such devices (calibration). The article describes the use of the artefact designed for the rapid verification of the Carl Zeiss Metrotom 1500 device.

ROTOR BAR PRE-FAULT DETECTION IN THE SQUIRREL CAGE INDUCTION MOTORS

The paper deals with a diagnosis technique to detect and monitor incipient faults in the rotor bars of squirrel gage induction motors. The failure mode analysis is performed monitoring the motor axial vibrations. To accomplish the task, the authors present a mathematical model that allows relating the occurrence and the severity of the faults to the presence and the magnitude of some frequency components of the axial vibration spectrum. To validate the proposed approach, the results obtained by applying the mathematical model are compared with the ones obtained by experimental tests done on...

PROGNOSTIC HYBRID MODEL FROM DATA FUSION ON MACHINE TOOLS

This paper proposes an enhancement of RUL prediction method based on degradation trajectory tracking under the scope of machine tools. The operational condition data of the machine over time provides the potential degradation state at the next estimation iteration step, based on data-driven techniques. The model-based approach is considered as long-term prognostics method assuming that a physical model describing the degradation behaviour is available. Fusing the aforementioned techniques outputs a hybrid model for RUL estimation.

INTERFEROMETRIC BENCH FOR CALIBRATION OF DISTANCE MEASURING INSTRUMENTS

Diagnostics of precision measurement device accuracy problems, caused by deviations of measurement components from the reference dimensions is a major topic in manufacturing as well as scientific field. Such deviations are harmful, if untreated. The paper deals with the analysis of developed indoor facilities for measuring tape calibration. A new interferometric bench suitable for calibration of electro-optical distance measuring instruments is presented in the paper. The design of both the bench and the carriage is discussed and the scopes of application are presented.

ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE ANALYSIS FOR SECURITY ISSUE DIAGNOSTICS IN DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS

Distributed systems offer great benefits, such as resource balancing and scalability as well as being the foundation for new generation of services, enabling enterprises to outsource a great portion of their infrastructure, necessary for daily operations. However, usage of distributed systems, especially if using them as a service from a third party provider, brings concerns of security to the focus. Typically, well established enterprises run their internal infrastructure, therefore diagnosing new issues that are brought along with the new technology is a challenge. However, having the...

HYBRID BACKWARD SIMULATOR TO DETERMINE CAUSAL STATE CHANGES

We are developing a backward simulator, which determines unknown system input change or internal state change from the system output by using the system model. However, its processing time would increase unlimitedly if the simulation model requires multiple case branching. In some target application, we can use forward simulation module in the backward data flow with significant reduction of processing time. This paper shows an example of such application to determine heater operation from temperature measurement with successful simulation results.

SENSOR FAULT DETECTION BY TESTING THE GENERALIZED VARIANCE OF THE INNOVATION COVARIANCE

A new method for testing the covariance matrix of the innovation sequence of the Kalman filter is proposed. The generalized variance (determinant) of the random Wishart matrix is used in this process as a monitoring statistic, and the testing problem is reduced to determination of the asymptotics for Wishart determinants. In the simulations, the longitudinal and lateral dynamics of the F-16 aircraft model is considered, and detection of sensor failures, which affect the covariance matrix of the innovation sequence, are examined.
