During tactile surface measurements the contact point between probing tip and surface varies depending on the local surface angle. To reduce the resulting measurement deviation on high slopes a probing principle is investigated that applies a dynamic surface dependent sensor tilt. This probing process and the logics for the angle determination have been simulative evaluated. A test stand based on a nanometer coordinate measuring machine is developed and fitted with a rotation kinematic based on stacked rotary axes. Systematic positioning deviations of the kinematic are reduced by a...
The aim of this work is to present the methodology used to evaluate the radiometric uniformity of a reference surface with the potential to be used in absolute calibration missions of imaging systems for remote sensing. Besides this work also estimates the main sources of uncertainties associated with radiometric measurement process.
The accuracy improvement of clinical examination starts to prevent from a misdiagnosis by uncertainty data. Recently it came to profit by it towards IT era for broader-based health care. The improvement accuracy was carrying out high quality data by ISO-GUM and QE technology. QE is useful for EQCS and EQA. It is the purpose that present development provides a patient with medical technology high level same as quality when and anywhere by EqQC for IT era. This research has continued applying for many years. The result has been reports every advance step of Blood Chemical Analysis (BCA).
The capability of KRISS, Korea, for the SI-traceable calibration of primary reference solar cells according to the IEC standards is presented. The method is based on measurement of absolute spectral irradiance of a solar simulator combined with differential spectral responsivity measurement for spectral mismatch correction. The uncertainty is evaluated to be less than 2 % ( k = 2) for short-circuit current measurement, and its validity is tested by comparison with other realizations.
A system for measuring the absolute spectral responsivity of solar cells is described. The system uses higher-powered LED arrays that are coupled to an optical light guide that together provide large area illumination. Two different measurement methods were developed and tested using this measurement apparatus. The first method is an individual LED lock-in technique that can be performed over a broad frequency range. The second method, which uses a Fourier transform technique, is based on synchronous multi-frequency optical excitation of all the LEDs, coupled with detection by a spectrum...
This paper contains results of researches of possible ways for providing a synchronization of space navigations systems’ time scales. The variant of construction of common time system in which basic the time scale formed by using characteristics of strictly periodic radio emission’s galactic sources - pulsars - is put is suggested in the article.
The apparatus for evaluation of the figure of merit ( ZT ) of thermoelectric devices has been developed. ZT value is comprised of three physical quantities, Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity. However, to date, the ZT values of the thermoelectric devices have been evaluated by Harman method due to difficulty in measuring thermal conductivity of the devices with high accuracy. In this study, we present new apparatus developed for evaluating the thermoelectric figure of merit of devices by direct measurement of thermal conductivity using guarded hot plate...
An overview is given on metrology for climate observation needs. The focus is put on remote monitoring of the Earth system. Global observation can be carried out terrestrially, seaborne, airborne and from space. It can provide the necessary information to support politics in deciding appropriate climate change mitigation strategies. However, harsh measurement environments in space, air or seaborne applications limit the uncertainty of measurement results currently attainable. In the specific case of climate observation this is often a factor of ten larger than required. The metrological...
In recent years proficiency testing has been used by laboratories to a greater extent to provide objective evidence of measurement capability. This paper details the different types of proficiency testing used by Proficiency Testing Australia (PTA) and explores the basic principles behind artefact selection and program design that are necessary in order to achieve an effective outcome. It also covers the analysis of results and the remedial and corrective actions necessary where problems are highlighted by a proficiency test.
In last decades, the metrology of the surface profile has developed dynamically. This trend is the result of new technologies, especially in the motor, aircraft or electronic industry. New requirements are not just question of how the product is manufactured, but also its final improved properties, like robustness and efficiency of a car engine. In the world around us, all the surfaces are rough. One of important problems is also the surface measurement credibility and reproducibility of results. In this paper, the author presents the results of simulations for profile surface measurements...
